Microsoft Copilot
Microsoft Copilot is an AI assistant built into Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and more) that uses large language models to help users draft content, summarize meetings, analyze data, and automate repetitive tasks through natural language prompts. It also extends to Copilot Studio, a low-code platform for building custom AI agents that connect to organizational data and workflows. The ecosystem spans productivity use cases for knowledge workers as well as developer and IT administration scenarios.
Microsoft 365 Copilot is embedded in one of the most widely deployed enterprise software suites on the planet, making proficiency in it a practical requirement for roles in operations, HR, finance, legal, and IT administration. Organizations are actively upskilling employees and hiring people who can configure, govern, and extract value from Copilot agents — including responsible-AI stewardship and Microsoft Purview data-protection controls. The addition of Copilot Studio means builders can create custom agents without deep ML expertise, opening an entirely new category of low-code AI engineering roles.
